Virgin Broadband is now offering 100MB broadband here in the UK.
Although you cannot get it just yet, pre-registrations have started for the service.
“The launch of our 100Mb service is a significant milestone in the UK’s broadband evolution and a vivid illustration of the power of our next generation network. From establishing the UK’s first ever broadband service in 2000 to the launch of 100Mb in 2010, in the space of just ten years, Virgin Media has led the greatest developments in digital Britain”.
Price wise, the 100MB service costs eother £35/month or £45/month depending on what other services you utilise such as TV or Phone.
100MB broadband registration can be found over here.
As for the release date, the service is rolling out in areas for the end of this year and will fully roll out by 2012. To check its available where you live, visit here and use the postcode checker. The checker isn’t too helpful though and doesn’t really let you know any dates other than saying “its coming”.
