The Advent Vega is an Android 2.2 tablet that will begin to ship in the UK on October 18th. The tablet specs were put online at Modaco and the tablet will be launched by PC World and Currys with a price tag of £249.
The technical specs of the Advent Vega Tablet show that it runs an NVIDIA T20 Tegra 2 chip inside. It is clocked at 1GHz. RAM and ROM are 512MB each and the included micro SD card has a capacity of 4GB.
The screen is 10.1 inches and is multitouch with a screen resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The screen is also lit by LED. Multitouch can detect up to four fingers on the screen.
For connectivity it has Wireless at 802.11b/g along with a Bluetooth 2.1+EDR connection. A webcam is included that can capture at 1.3 megapixels.
The specs reveal that a built in 3G SIM card slot is included although there is no specific mention of a 3G model for some reason. We are unsure at this point if the model is an optional extra or not.
Overall it actually looks quite good. It ticks the right boxes in that it has a large multi-touch screen, it has a fast processor and runs the latest Android 2.2 operating system.
It will be landing next week at PC World and Currys in the UK.
Check out the video below to see a demonstration of how it runs. We have to admit that the OS runs very well on it.
