Yesterday, Amazon update its Amazon iPhone app. The new update brings a new feature to those running an iPhone 4 or 3GS running iOS 4… the ability to scan barcodes.
What the barcode scanner does is allows you to scan the barcode on any product. If Amazon stocks it, the price(s) of the product will be displayed in the mobile app and at that point, you can choose to purchase if you so wish.
The updated application is available via the iTunes store or via the app store on your iPhone. If you don’t run the necessary OS or iPhone then the feature will not be available and you’ll instead, just get the regular features of the Amazon iPhone app.
