Apple [AAPL] could be launching the Apple 27 inch LED display any day now.
9 to 5 Mac noticed that when viewing the Mac Pro customisation page on the Apple site last week, that the text spoke about a 24 inch LED display. When visiting the site this week the wording has changed to specify a 27 inch LED display that is launching sometime this month.
The wording does look to have changed back, which could mean the text was accidentally added a little earlier. Either way, it looks like it will land soon.
Specifications of the new Apple screen show that it has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. This provides it with 60 percent more screen real estate when comparing it to the smaller 24 inch model.
The display has an iSight camera built in as well as a microphone and speakers. A USB 2.0 hub is also built in to the display.
“With built-in MagSafe charging, iSight camera, speakers, and USB ports, the LED Cinema Display is ideal for MacBook and MacBook Pro users”, said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing. “With its massive 2560 x 1440 resolution, the new 27-inch LED Cinema Display is a perfect fit with our powerful new Mac Pro, and it gives iMac users an easy way to double their screen real estate”.
We look forwards to this one!
