Archos is starting to ship a new range of tablets starting today. The model that launched today is the Archos 70. It comes with 8GB of storage and it runs Android 2.2.
Technical specs show that this particular tablet has a 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor and has a screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The screen is multitouch.
For connectivity is has Wireless 802.11b/g/n as well as Bluetooth. It has a camera on the front that has a VGA resolution.
The downside of this particular tablet is that the Android Market is not available on it. Rather than loading apps through the Market, you’ll need to sideload them.
Price wise, this particular tablet has a tag of $279. A model with a hard drive is expected any day now with a price tag of $350. That particular model will have a 250GB hard drive.
