Vodafone has announced that it will be selling the newly announced BlackBerry Torch. No specific release dates have been provided at the moment. We do know that the US will get the Torch on August 12, so we suspect that Vodafone will either launch the device the same day or shortly after.
The new BlackBerry Torch runs the latest BlackBerry OS which is version number 6. The new OS brings a number of new features to the new BlackBerry Torch including the ability to use tabs whilst browsing. The new version brings the BlackBerry to a wider audience which includes some that didn’t want to make the switch due to the corporate feel of the device.
Other details show that the device has a slide out QWERTY keypad for text entry allowing users to tap out messages and emails quickly. Using the new BlackBerry OS 6, RIM say that responsiveness is fast to screen taps.
This new operating system makes using a BlackBerry so much faster and simpler and integrates all your favourite social networking apps all in one place. With customisable homescreens you can switch between all your apps or just your favourites in a second. It also allows for easier multi-tasking so using multiple apps at once is a cinch. Be the first to experience OS 6 on the BlackBerry Torch.
Right now, Vodafone is just taking names of those who are interested in signing up for the device. You can log your details over on the Vodafone site.
