EKING is launching a new UMPC called the EKING M5. The M5 was launched on to the Chinese market back on August 17 of this year (Valentines Day).
Features included in this device include a full QWERTY keyboard and a tilting screen. It has a 5 inch screen that has a WSCGA resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels. The screen is backlit by LED and the screen is suplied by Sharp.
The screen is capacitive touch enabled and does support multi-touch according to Pocketables.
Other features include an Intel Atom Z515 processor that runs at 1.2GHz. It has 1GB of DDR2 memory along with a 16GB SSD inside. It supports Windows XP, Vista or 7, has WiFi b/g and Bluetooth as well as 3G connectivity that works with both voice and data.
GPS is included and it has a 3 megapixel camera. The battery has a capacity of 2600mAh although it isn’t clear how long it lasts for. We suspect it will do quite well in terms of battery life though.
Price wise, it works out at about $793.40 on the exchange work. There are no details of a launch out side of China yet although you could probably pick one up soon by importing it.
