The Facebook mobile app has been installed on millions of devices from BlackBerry, Android and iOS based smartphones.
Joe Hewitt is the man responsible for developing the Facebook apps for mobile devices and has had a little rant on Twitter about how he finds the operating systems that he works with. His main gripe is with Android OS that Google [GOOG] develops by saying it’s too hard to use.
The tweets said…
‘Android tools are horrendous, OS is hideous¦
‘Once a day or so it hits me that I am writing Java, and I cry a little,
‘The more I work with Android the more it reminds me of Windows¦as in, it’s really flexible, agnostic, and developer-friendly, but also really sloppily designed.
Also when commenting about Apple [AAPL] he said…
‘The absence of big brother telling me what to do gives it a slight edge.
‘I am philosophically opposed to the existence of their review process.
I’m not sure why he said stuff on Twitter rather than Facebook. It’s interesting to see what he thinks about the different OS’s though.
