TDK has created a couple of new passive matrix OLED screens, one of which is flexible.
This particular model pictured below is just 0.3 mm thick and can be rolled up to have a radius of just 25mm. The resolution of this flexible screen is 256 x 64 pixels although contrast ratio and brightness are not known just yet.
Although it’s still early days for a flexible panel, TDK believe that production models of the flexible colour screen will start towards the end of 2011. It isn’t clear what resolution will be possible with the production screens, but the goal will be to increase it over the coming years.
