Gateway has launched a new laptop with WiMAX built in. The laptop is the Gateway NV59C66u and it comes with the Intel 6250 Wi-Fi/WiMAX card allowing you to connect to the net wherever you are.
The WiMAX service works by pairing up to a WiMAX service provider and once done, you get access across many cities in the US.
Other technical specs reveal that the new laptop has the option of an Intel Core i3 or Core i5 CPU. AMD Athlon and Turion processors are also an option.
For memory, it supports up to 4GB of DDR3 which is also upgradeable to 8GB if needed. For storage, the option of a 320GB and 500GB is available.
As well as having WiMAX built in, the laptop also has Wi-Fi available that is capable of connecting up to 802.11b/g/n networks.
The laptop comes in two model sizes. The first has a 15.6 inch screen and can display 1366×768 pixels while the second has a 17.1 inch screen and can display 1600×900 pixels. A HDMI port is included that allows customers to connect up to an external monitor or projector.
An option of a Blu-ray drive or DVD drive is available when look to buy the machine. For release dates, there are no specific details given for availability in stores although they are in some places, available now.
Price wise, the smaller model starts at $479.99 while the larger model will sell for $699.99.
