Google’s [GOOG] App Market is ticking along quite nicely for them it seems. Google haven’t published details of how many apps are included, but another company have and have said that there are now 20,000 applications available for download.
The distribution graph created by AndroidLib says that of the 20,056 applications 62.2% of them are free vs the 37.8% paid apps.
Although 20,000+ isn’t necessarily anywhere near the 100,000 that the Apple app store has in place, it is still a decent number. With a lot of Android based phones being launched next year including the Nexus One, hopefully more developers will start showing interest in the platform when sales figures are boosted.
