HTC VP Jack Tong has recently spoken about the company plans for smartphones and tablets. In regards to tablets, right now they are watching the competition and are thinking of entering the market. When speaking of the iPad he believes that sales of those tables have affected laptops/desktops more than they have smartphones.
In regards to plans for smartphones, HTC is currently sticking to Google Android as its main choice although they are evaluating more of localised versions of Windows Phone 7.
HTC will also be targeting English speaking markets with Windows Phone 7 devices in the future.
On to the supply of smartphones, and the shortage of them, Tong believes that December should be far better in terms of stock available. 9 million units are expected to ship this last quarter of 2010.
