HTC have launched a software update for the HTC HD2 that aims to fix the camera problems that the model has had since launch. The update is described as being a Digital Picture Enhancement and was released just today.
The update from HTC provides clear digital pictures bringing it closer to HD then previous versions of the software.
HTC mention that you need to have ROM version 1.60.XXX.X installed, or lower which probably suggests that the next ROM update will include the new software as standard.
To install the software update make sure you follow the instructions as described below…
1. Make sure you have Microsoft ActiveSync® installed on your Windows XP PC or Windows Mobile Device Center on your Windows Vista® PC. You can find Microsoft ActiveSync from this link or Windows Mobile Device Center from this link.
2. Connect and synchronize your device with your PC via Microsoft ActiveSync® or Windows Mobile Device Center using the USB cable.
3. To download this update select the update below and the location closest to you then click Download.
4. Copy the update, which is an .exe file, to your device. To install the update, tap the .exe file and follow the on-screen instructions.
HTC also report that if you ever need to do a hard reset on your phone then the software update wont be applied and will need a reinstall.
