Just hours after Apple [AAPL] released the iOS 4.1 download, a vulnerability was found by the iPhone Dev Team that allows an iOS 4.1 jailbreak to happen.
The interesting thing with this particular security hole is that its a low level security hole that to fix, Apple will need to introduce new hardware.
It isn’t known just yet when the dev team will launch the jailbreak and they recommend you keep away from iOS 4.1 till further notice. We suspect it will take them a few weeks to clean up the code to make it publicly available.
As for compatibility, it is expected that this will work on all iOS 4.1 devices which includes the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.
