Thanks to the Orange Boutique in Paris, France for opening at midnight last night. Due to this, RapidRepair were one of the first to get hold of an iPhone 3G s. Several hours later they have now completely dismantled the iPhone 3G S to see what exactly the S brings to the new phone.
The tear down was actually done in-store thanks to some friendly staff by using standard tools such as a small Philips screw driver, small flathead, a heat gun, exacto razor and the safe open repair tool kit.
The tear down was fairly straight forwards with only the heat gun needed to be used real carefully as to not damage the iPhone. For full instructions on how to disassemble and reassemble the iPhone check out RapidRepair.
