New MacBook Air Models Now Available

Apple [AAPL] has announced a couple of new MacBook Air models. The first is the regular sized 13.3 inch screen model.

This particular model measures 0.68 inches at the thickest point and 0.11 inches at the thinnest point. It weighs 2.9 pounds. Inside it has the option of either a 1.86GHz or 2.13GHz processor.

2GB of RAM is included inside that can be upgraded up to 4GB if needed. For storage there are two options of either a 128GB flash or 256GB flash. No HDD options are available on these models.

The 13.3 inch screen is backlit by LED and has an impressive resolution of 1440 x 900 pixels. Connectivity wise, it has the usual Wireless 802.11n inside along with Bluetooth 2.1+EDR. An Apple USB Ethernet adapter is also available, but sold separately. Battery life has been increased on this model to around 7 hours of usage with WiFi enabled. According to the presentation today, this number is accurate and not an overestimate.

Price wise, this particular model costs $1,299.00 for the 128GB model and $1,599.00 for the 256GB model. Increasing the RAM and processor in each will also bump up the price a little.

The 11.6 inch MacBook Air was also announced today. The only main differences are the screen size and amount of pixels that can be displayed. Battery life is also lower at 5 hours when using WiFi. For the standard 11 inch models the prices are $999.00 for the 64GB version and $1,199.00 for the 128GB model.

Full details along with comparisons and prices are available over at Apple. Each model is already available to buy as of today.

  1. WOW that thing looks thin! I see it’s up next to an iPhone. WIth the Rover Puck 4G, you can get 4G internet on your Air and iPhone and 6 other devices at the same time. I think 4g is a must on new gadgets… it’s the fastest internet around. The Puck is also prepaid so you don’t have to lock into any contracts. And did I mention it’s unlimited downloads?? Try getting that on your 3G plan. Try it fo’ sho’.
