This week has seen a few announcements about the new Nokia N9. First we heard that it wasn’t going to be going to the US. We then heard the N9 wouldn’t launch in the UK. We now hear that it isn’t going to Germany.
The MeeGo smartphone appeared to be one to look out for, but it seems like Nokia is more interested in Windows Phone 7 and the whole Microsoft deal at the moment.
For those who still want the N9 MeeGo powered smartphone, you’ll need to look at alternative ways to buy one such as importing from a country that will offer the device when it launches.
For those unsure of what the Nokia N9 is in terms of specs etc… it runs the MeeGo operating system. It will be launching on September 23 with a SIM free price tag of $650 (obviously not in the UK, US or Germany at the moment). It has an 8 megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss lens and auto-focus. It uses an ARM Cortex A8 processor that is clocked at 1GHz. On the front is Gorilla Glass to make it stronger and less prone to scratching. For RAM it has 1GB and comes with either 16GB or 64GB of storage. Bluetooth, WiFi, aGPS is built in.
