The Samsung Epic 4G Android 2.2 Froyo update had started rolling out a few days ago although we now hear that the update has been pulled due to a few issues.
The reason Samsung pulled the update was due to an increasing number of support calls that reported a handful of problems. Some of those problems include issues with the SD card which causes problems when accessing data such as music, pictures or video.
One suggestion hints that users need to do a hard reset to solve the problems. It isn’t clear why the problem is happening (other than the obvious connection with Android 2.2), but we assume Samsung is now working on the problem and will have a new Android 2.2 update in the coming days or weeks.
We’ll keep an eye on things and look out for the new update to arrive. For now, keep where you are although you don’t have much choice now as the update is not live anymore.
