It isn’t clear at the moment when the Samsung Galaxy S will get the Android 2.2 update. The latest we hear is that it might land in October.
In the UK however, it is expected by the end of this month according to Samsung, while in Spain the date has been shifted to October. Samsung India has also suggested that the update will arrive in October.
It isn’t clear why there’s a lot of confusion over the updates. Slashgear indicate that it could be just problems with the regional differences on the device or perhaps, some problems that have surfaced at the last minute.
While the Samsung Galaxy S SIM free model might get the update with in the next few weeks, the carrier versions are of course, a completely different story and we assume that carriers who offer the Galaxy S or a variant of it will follow, perhaps a few months later.
