The Samsung Galaxy S2 – i9100, is expected to launch next week at MWC. The specs of this particular smartphone have been leaked online and show that it runs a 1.2GHz Samsung Orion processor and has a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Plus screen, also by Samsung from what we understand.
The device, possibly pictured below, will have NFC communications built in. It will run Google Android 2.3 when it launches and we assume this will be updated to the even newer Android 2.3.3 that boosts the NFC capabilities even further.
Back to the Super AMOLED Plus screen, we see it has a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. It isn’t clear what “Plus” is referring to, but we suggest it’s a second generation of the screen with a further enhanced contract ratio.
The device has 1GB of RAM built in allowing multitasking to run smoothly. When compared to the iPhone 4, it has double which means it’s 4x more than the iPad which has 256MB.
Overall, a device well worth looking out for. Looking at a few final specs, we also see it has an 8 megapixel camera on the back that is accompanied by an LED flash. It is also capable of capturing video in 1080p format. A front facing camera is also included although it isn’t clear if the US networks will rebrand the Galaxy S2 like they did the original Galaxy and make subtle changes such as removing the front facing camera.
Expect these specs to be made official in the next few days along with details on pricing. Mobile Fun has the device listed in the UK at £549.95 although we believe this is just a guess at pricing rather than the real price.
