Toshiba have announced the launch of the Toshiba Tecra M11 range of laptops. Toshiba describe these particular M11 laptops as being built for road warriors.
The design is kind of sucky and steps away from the more sleek looking laptops we are seeing this last year, but inside there’s a lot of power going on.
The screen on the Tecra M11 measures 14 inches. It’s a HD screen backlit by LED and has an anti-glare coating on it. It runs Windows 7 Professional. DDR3 memory can be found inside along with Intel Core processors ranging from the i3 to i5.
The M11 measures less than 1.5 inches in thickness and weighs just over 5 pounds. It isn’t super thin or super light, but you do get powerful CPU’s inside.
When launched the Tecra M11 series will start at $899.00 and will be made available through the usual channels, ie authorised resellers.
The $899 price tag gets you a model with an Intel Core i3-330M processor along with 2GB RAM, Intel HD graphics and a 320GB hard drive.
The next model up costs $1,029 and includes an Intel Core i5-430M CPU with 3GB of RAM, Intel HD Graphics and also a 320GB hard drive.
Step up to the more powerful model and you pay $1,229. With this model you get an Intel Core i5-520M along with the same 3GB of RAM and a 320GB hard drive. However, you also get an upgrade to an NVIDIA NVS 2100M graphics card.
Core i7 CPUs are available although you need to select the custom build option where you can modify one of the three listed laptops above to get even more power.
