Back in March we wrote about the WePad that was designed to take on the iPad. The company behind the WePad called Neofonie, have decided to change the name to WeTab.
The reasons for the name change are not clear although it could be related to Apple applying a bit of pressure, or perhaps Neofonie just getting a little scared and wanting to separate their product a little.
The WeTab is an 11.6 inch touchscreen device that has a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. It is powered by an Intel Atom N450 processor and has integrated Intel GMA 3150 graphics.
When launched the Neofonie WeTab will have a price tag of $573 which equates to about 449 Euros currently. This model will have 16GB of storage and wifi for connectivity. A larger model with wireless and 3G connectivity is also being launched that will have 32GB of storage. This model will cost $726 when launched in June.
