Well it seems Microsoft’s Kinect will be launching with plenty to offer it’s gamers come release day, touted as a huge step forward as far as it’s tech is concerned and with kinect’s sole marketing ploy being controller-free gaming, should do reasonably well.
Microsoft also feeling very confident too as they’re pumping almost a billion dollars into thier marketing campaign and have now even cemented a spot on The Oprah Winfrey show as well to showcase the new toy.
So there leaves little left that Microsoft can do to further the lengths that they will go to in making sure everybody on earth knows about Kinect.
Altogether, 17 games have been given the go ahead for a Kinect lanch release, 12 actually on release day. We’ve got the list below…
November 4th
Adrenalin Misfits (Konami)
The Biggest Loser Ultimate Workout (THQ)
Dance Central (MTV Games)
DanceMasters (Konami)
Fighters Uncaged (Ubisoft)
Kinect Adventures (Microsoft Game Studios)
Kinect Joy Ride (Big Park/Microsoft Game Studios)
Kinect Sports (Rare/Microsoft Game Studios)
Kinectimals (Frontier Studio/Microsoft Game Studios)
Motion Sports (Ubisoft)
Sonic Free Riders (Sega)
Your Shape: Fitness Evolved (Ubisoft)
November 16th
EA Sports Active 2 (Electronic Arts)
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows–Part 1 The Videogame (Electronic Arts)
November 18th
Game Party: In Motion (Warner Bros.)
Zumba Fitness (Majesco)
HOLIDAY 2010 (end of November)
Deca Sports Freedom (Hudson)
Though a few games on this list seem fairly similar to one another and some more overly critical gamers may deem some of these as ‘shovelware’, with the fact that these can be played without a controller still imbues curiosity among the majority if at all just to see what it’s like. Titles of note include Kinectimals, Adrenaline Misfits, Fighter Uncaged, Kinect Joyride and Motion Sports. Though with only seeing a few screenshots of these, we’ll have to wait until release day.
Let’s hope that when Kinect finally does land in our living rooms on November 4th that it is found worthy of all the hype surrounding it.
