FretLight Video Player
The FretLight Video Player is a gadget that helps you to learn how to play a real guitar. As the name suggests the frets light up on your guitar guiding you through various chords.
The guitar attaches to your PC or Mac via a USB cable. Videos are included with the guitar which teach you various chords by lighting up dots on the neck of the guitar. The software allows you to repeat on an A/B process allowing you to practice the same part time and time again till you get it right. Various DVD’s are available that are compatible with the guitar that teach you essential chords, bass notes, harmonic rhythm and a bunch of others that I personally don’t understand. Maybe I need to pick one up myself and learn 😉 [Read more…]
Japanese Style Wireless XBOX 360 Arcade Stick
This is the ultimate gaming joystick for Street Fighter fans. It is custom built for the XBOX 360 and is wireless too. The design takes inspiration from the arcade cabs and their ease of use compared to the regular controllers we see these days.

Asus U / UX Notebooks
Asus recently introduced a new line of notebooks named the Asus U and Asus UX Series. The emphasis on the new series is design as quoted in the press release… “Each of them a masterpiece so immensely desirable, the U and UX Series takes modern day computing to the streets”.
I’m not too fussed my self about the design of these as long as they look half decent I am ok with that. What I am more interested in is what’s inside and what it can do. The ‘chicklet’ sized keyboard is backlit making it easier to use in the dark and actually does add a little class to the design. As well as the keyboard lighting up, the touchpad does also. The screen measures 15.6″ and is an LED backlit display. Light sensors are used so that the screen can dim in darker situations and lighten up in bright situations. This is quite a handy tool to have as I am often found changing my screen brightness depending on the time of day and varying light levels. [Read more…]
Transparent OLED Screens Revealed
Recently at a show in Tokyo a Philips were showing off some transparent OLED displays. The screens were capable of letting about 70% – 75% light through when switched off.
The idea is great as it could turn any window in to a display. OLED’s tend to be very thin due to no backlight being needed as each individual pixel can be lit up a different colour with it’s own light source. Unfortunately there are no details on how the transparency is achieved but it is expected that the setup will probably be similar to current non transparent versions that we see around. [Read more…]

By filling them up with something like methanol you can get hours of usage out and then an instant recharge by topping them back up. Sony are working on this technology and have created a prototype hybrid fuel-cell.
The prototype measures 50 x 30mm which makes it fairly small. Inside there is a fuel cell, li-polymer as a secondary batter as well as the control circuit. [Read more…]
