Dell Adamo XPS – Costs $2000 – Has Heat Sensing Strip

adamo-xps-heat-sensing-stripWe recently mentioned that Dell are launching the Dell Adamo XPS ultra thin laptop that measures just under 10mm. Information on the Adamo XPS is very thin on the ground at the moment with just a few teaser shots and a lot of speculation providing what we know.

Business Week claim that the laptop will cost $2000 when launched and one of the most unique features seems to be a heat-sensing strip that runs along the lip of the lid. When gliding your finger across the strip the thing glows white and the casing opens up the aluminium lid. [Read more…]

ASUS Eee PC T91MT

eeepct91mt-listing-rm-engIt probably won’t be a surprise for you, but Amazon.de have listed a new netbook tablet with a launch date of October 22… ie, Windows 7 launch day. The netbook tablet launching is the Asus Eee T91MT that’s a multi-touch tablet netbook that has an 8.9 inch screen along with a 160GB HDD.

It is similar to the Asus Eee T91 but rather than the solid state drive of the T91, this one opts for a harddrive instead. Inside you’ll also find the same processor on the T91MT as the T91 had.

The netbook tablet is available in either black or white according to the site and will cost the equivalent of $754. [Read more…]

Sony Creates a 360 Degree Display

Sony-3D-360Sony are set to introduce a unique prototype 360 degree display this week at the Digital Contents Expo held in Tokyo this week.

The 360 degree display unit will measure 10.6 inches in height and have a diameter of 5.1 inches. As of yet, Sony do not seem to know what they want to achieve with this odd display prototype although it could potentially be used for signs in shops or as a different photo frame for the home or perhaps (in my opinion) used to sit next to your computer to display information in a unique way. Motorola Droid gets Hands on at BGR

motorola-droid_1Over the weekend we posted some shots that we found regarding the Android 2.0 operating system that BGR managed to get their hands on. Just a day before that BGR also made a quick video showing HELLOMOTODROID which looks to be exactly the same phone.

Now BGR have shown us some full pictures of the phone including a number of angles showing us exactly what it will look like. The phone as mentioned, will run Android 2.0 (which from what I have read looks amazing) and will be slightly thicker than the iPhone 3G S. It is described as the thinnest QWERTY slider phone ever mad. It runs a fast processor and has a nice sized capacitive touch-screen for input. [Read more…]

Memorex Sound System iPod Dock Review

Memorex-MI9490P-iPod-Dock-ReviewA few weeks ago we announced the launch of a new Memorex iPod dock. We recently received the sound system to review and check out how it performs. The iPod Dock is numbered the Mi9490PBLK and in the box you get the sound system it’s self, a power lead/transformer, remote control and an aerial for use with the radio tuner (along with manuals etc…). Also you get the standard iPod dock connector on the top of the device along with a spare docking plate just in case you are using one of the older iPods. The dock is also compatible with iPhone and iPod Touch too. [Read more…]

X-Mini II and X-Mini Max II Review

X-Mini-Max-IIWe recently received a couple of sets of speakers for review named the X-Mini II and X-Mini Max II. When first getting the speakers out of the box I was a little worried that they wouldn’t provide much sound or volume due to their small size. Lets take a look to see if I was right… The X-Mini II is a single speaker that has a 40mm driver built in that you can attach to your computer via the attached 3.5mm cable. The X-Mini Max II comes in 1 unit that actually splits in 2 and houses a 40mm speaker in each side providing 2 channels of stereo sound. [Read more…]

LG BL40 Chocolate Review

LG-BL40-Chocolate-ReviewThe LG BL40 Chocolate mobile phone is unique due to it’s cinematic widescreen display that has an aspect ratio of 21:9 allowing it to play feature length movies with no borders top or bottom. With the BL40 having a large aspect ratio screen the phone is longer than your average mobile phone and though pictures seem to show the phone being a little over sized, when holding it you’ll find that it actually works very well and sits in your pocket very well.

The front of the phone is covered in tempered glass and has a nice glossy shine to it. There are no buttons on the front of the device and it’s just a smooth piece of glass that has just the ear speaker cut out. Both the top and bottom ends of the phone are accented in a vibrant red while the sides continue on the glossy black look of the front along with a thin silver strip that runs the length of the phone on each side. On the back of the phone the black gloss look is continued with just a small cut out for the 5 megapixel camera lens, flash and a small microphone. [Read more…]

Sony Ericsson Xperia X3 Spotted

sony-xperiax-3Lots of mobile phone news today… Next up is the Sony Ericsson Xperia X3 that was just spotted live in the wild. The Sony Xperia X3 is an Android based phone that was first heard of a few months back.

Although the image is quite small and doesn’t really show that much details, it’s still good to see that the phone is actually getting nearer to production. It is also expected that both the X2 and X3 will be released at similar times as they run different operating systems. [Read more…]

Android 2.0 Screen Shots Revealed

Android-2-0Boy Genius Report managed to get to spend some time with the unannounced and unreleased version of Android 2.0. The report has a lot of images covering a number of aspects of the new operating system. Some of the major changes include a native Facebook application, native Exchange support, upgrade to Google Maps, browser improvements, contacts tweaked and a whole new UI. BGR described the new OS as making Android a very viable and interesting operating system.

The whole system looks to be quite amazing from what I see in the screen shots. There are many features that can be fine tuned such as selecting if you want a system backup for the device, or “shake to refresh” active on Facebook to name just 2 of the great amount. [Read more…]

LG Crystal GD900 Used as a Portable Fish Tank

fish-in-lg-crystalThe LG Crystal is known for it’s unique crystal keypad that slides out from behind the device, but did you know it can hold water (un-officially) as well as a couple of little fish? This is what one guy did by creating possibly the worlds first portable mobile phone fish tank.

The owner of the phone took the back off and then put a couple of small fish in the back (I have no idea what sort of fish) and when the back was on he injected some of the fish tank water.

As can be seen in the picture above, the phone actually still works as does the back light on the transparent keypad. Take a look at the video after the jump to witness the madness. [Read more…]

korejanai_pentaxThe Pentax K-x is a new camera that was announced just a month ago. The announcement said that it comes in the usual black colour along with white and red options being available. Now we hear that a new version has been launched in a Kore Ja Nai Robo toy set of colours.

fps-pearl-m3-projector.previewFPS have launched a new Pico Projector called the FPS Pearl M3. The pico projector is a small unit that has VGA image quality that is capable of projecting a 16:9 wide screen. The lamp has a 30,000 life expectancy and the projector can play back a number of common formats including AVI, various MPEG’s, WMV etc…

Pico projectors are small enough to be carried in your pocket and measure just a tad larger than your average mobile phone. The M3 is pretty much the same as any other pico projector on the market which I guess just gives you another option of what to buy. [Read more…]
