Playstation 3.10 Firmware Update supports Facebook

PS3-Firmware-UpdateSony have officially announced the latest firmware for the PS3 numbered v3.10. In the new version of the firmware the software will allow you to connect your PS3 up to Facebook so that your newsfeed can be automatically updated. When logged in, the PS3 will automatically upload information of your latest scores.

By using the web-browser you can also continue to search Facebook and update it in the regular way along with twitter and various other social networking sites. [Read more…]

Han Solo Frozen in Carbonite Custom Built Desk

Thecus N0204 NAS – The Worlds Smallest

Thecus-N0204The Thecus N0204 is the smallest NAS in the world. It uses 2.5″ hard drives to achieve this and due to the small form factor of the said drives, the who unit measures just 132 x 88 x 63 mm.

The Thecus NAS costs around $150 for the unit only which allows you to buy your own drives to put in there. The NAS has two drive bays and you can opt to use either HDD or SSD’s that have a maximum capacity of 1TB. The device can be configured for a RAID 0 or RAID 1 setup. [Read more…]

sidekick-dataA few weeks back there was a problem that caused data for sidekick users to be lost causing some big headaches for all those involved. It seems like T-Mobile is ready to move on as they have now announced that the T-Mobile Sidekick is now available again for sale.

‘T-Mobile is pleased to announce that Sidekick sales have resumed. New pricing for the Sidekick LX 2009 will be $149.99 with a two-year contract and the Sidekick 2008 will be $49.99 with a two-year contract. [Read more…]

Stantum Multi-Touch Slate PC

stantum-multitouchThe Stantum is a multi-touch slate PC that has a 10.1 inch touch screen. It is based and built around a Dell Mini 10 and has no keyboard, has the webcam removed and has just 2 USB ports.

The Slate PC comes supplied with Windows 7 installed (although it’s not clear which version). The multi-touch screen is capable of sensing up to 10 fingers at a time which is plenty for a screen of this size. Other features removed from the Dell Mini 10 are mostly connectivity with it having no wifi and no bluetooth as both antennas were removed. [Read more…]

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Hands-on Video – Runs Faster Now

xperia-x10A few weeks ago the XPERIA X10 was announced and at that time it was reported as being a bit sluggish in menu transitions and responsiveness in general. It seems like the new phone has had a firmware update though that has fixed all the problems.

With the phone coming in Feb 2010, there is still a bit more time for more tweaks although it seems the Android based phone is actually running ok now. [Read more…]

Microsoft Windows 7 Vulnerability Spotted

Windows-7Microsoft have confirmed that a vulnerability now exists in Windows 7 that was officially launched just last month. The fix is quite easy in that you just need to block a couple of ports on your firewall to prevent an exploit of the Server Message Block (SMB). As well as causing problems for Windows 7 users, those who use Windows 2008 R2 also have this problem.

The bug is part of a Microsoft built network file and printer sharing protocol and allows hackers to cause Windows to crash when exploited through a denial of service attack. [Read more…]

Qualcomm Snapdragon Powered Smartbook Unveiled

lenovo-smartbookQualcomm have unveiled a new smartbook that will be built by Lenovo and sold by US carrier AT&T. The Smartbook will run a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and be capable of 720p HD video.

The picture above came thanks to TechTicker and although a little blurry, you can get some what of an idea of what the new smartbook will look like.

The smartbook is essentially a mini laptop that runs a chipset available for smartphones, but has a larger screen and a decent battery life. [Read more…]

iPhone TomTom to get an Update

tomtom-iphone-appThe TomTom iPhone application should be getting updated soon, assuming Apple [AAPL] approve it. Included in the update are a number of features which should have been included at launch such as advanced lane guidance and text to speech.

Eye-Fi Cards now Support FTP

eye-fi-wi-fi-sd-cardEye-Fi cards are unique as they can wirelessly connect your digital camera up to a wireless network for instant transfer of pictures. Pictures are generally sent to photo sharing sites such as Flickr. It seems that Eye-Fi cards now have the option of FTP file transfer allowing you to bypass any restrictions that Flickr and other companies have.

All you need to get this going is an FTP server (you can configure your home computer to be one), or use a webserver if you run a website, and an Eye-Fi card that supports Online Sharing (there are several versions of Eye-Fi cards available, so you might not have the correct type for this). Active Media Wink 16GB USB Flash Drive

The USB Wink Drive measures just 0.1 inches in thickness and measures over an inch long. Several capacities are available other than the large 16GB model which includes 2GB, 4GB, 8GB as well as the already mentioned 16GB model.
