It appears that on August 18 the HTC DROID Incredible Android 2.2 update will be arriving, or at least will be starting to arrive OTA to users.

Worlds Longest Email Address is 345 Charachters

The shorter an email address is, the easier it is to mention it to someone. Just imagine what it would be like having a new contact write this one down…

“Can you send me the document via email?”

“Sure, what’s your email address?”

35 Dollar Tablet Demod on Video

The 35 dollar tablet was recently revealed. It appears to be another type of cheap computing device that probably wont launch at $35 like previous attempts at the $100 laptop. But, we’ll remain hopeful that it does happen.

The video below shows the Android 1.6 based tablet running at some speed although the video looked to be running a little faster. If it runs as quick as it does in the video it will be quite amazing. What will be more amazing is seeing it launch at $35 which we hope it can as that will help out a lot of children learning in the future. [Read more…]

Vlingo for Android Dropped from $10 to Free

The Vlingo app for Android OS based smartphones has just dropped in price from $10 down to free. This is more than likely due to Google Voice Search which just had a large update recently which essentially duplicates a lot of what Vlingo can do.

The problem Vlingo was challenged was with the price of the app. With Google [GOOG] offering Voice Search for free, it seems to have forced the company in to doing the same. Another problem that could make Vlingo struggle is that Google could potentially start making Voice Search an integrated part of Google Android. [Read more…]

Bigtrak Replica Now Available

If you grew up in the 80’s then you’ll remember Bigtrak. Firebox is selling an exact replica of the MB original and it is now called Bigtrak 2010.

The Bigtrak 2010 is exactly the same size as the original and was actually created with the same moulds that were used to make the original.

For those who do not remember, Bigtrak works by feeding it commands on the interface that sits on top. You can tell it to move forwards, rotate, move backwards and flash a light on the front. When telling it to go forwards you work in lengths like “move forwards 5 lengths” and then rotate 30 degrees. A whole sequence could be programmed to make Bigtrak move around your living room. iPhone 4 Leica Camera Design

When the Apple iPhone 4 was first revealed a few months back, Steve Jobs described the iPhone as being like a Leica camera. This inspired one guy to look up what a Leica camera was and then adapt an image and resize it so it could be printed out and attached to the back of an iPhone 4.

By adjusting an image of a Leica M8 and resizing it to the size of an iPhone 4, Rapahel Salgado of BeyondTheTech managed to print out a Leica camera with the flash and camera aligned with the flash on the iPhone 4 as described below…

I took the image and with the magic and efficiency of Photoshop, I proportioned it to the dimensions of the iPhone 4, stretching a few things around, especially to accommodate the place where the rear camera and LED flash would line up. I also removed the “M8” model name and replaced it with an “iP 4” as well as the Leica name to Apple. Lastly, I changed where it said “LEICA” in the lens to “IPHONE.”

I printed it out from my Canon photo printer and cut it so it lined up nicely in the inside of the Griffin Reveal’s clear backside, used an Exacto knife to cut out the rear camera and LED flash area, and topped the edges with a black permanent marker to hide the edges of white photo paper.

The screen on the Epic 4G is 4 inches and is a Super AMOLED type built by Samsung. The touchscreen also uses capacitive as can be expected on a phone of this type. When it launches it will run Google Android 2.1 which will be followed by an OTA update to Android 2.2 later on this year.

Casio Exilim EX-FC160S Golf Camera Announced

Casio is launching a new Exilim point & shoot digital camera. To add to the basic features seen in most point & shoot cameras, Casio has decided to do something unique by gearing the camera towards golfers.

The camera has a 10 megapixel sensor that is backside-illuminated. What this allows it to do is capture video at 240fps in good quality. The idea behind this camera is that you put it on a tripod and record your golf swing at 240 frames per second. The camera then plays the footage back at 30 frames per second essentially slowing the footage right down. When this is done, the Exilim digital camera places lines on the screen to help you track your golf swing and see where you need to improve. [Read more…]
