HTC Mozart Specs Leaked

The HTC Mozart has been seen before (see the video below). Until now, we have only had a glimpse of what the Mozart will look like. Now, the technical specs have been leaked to let us know what is running inside.

With Windows Phone 7, we know what the minimum spec requirements are, but this doesn’t mean all devices will run exactly the same specs.

What is confirmed is that the device will run a 1GHz CPU from Qualcomm. It will be the QSD 8250 chip model. [Read more…]

HTC Desire HD ROM for HD2 Now Ready

Yesterday, the HTC Desire HD ROM was leaked online. The ROM that leaked wasn’t the final build although it was a full build.

It appears that the guys at XDA Developers have already managed to get a working version to port on to the HTC HD2 Windows Mobile smartphone.

Along with being able to get the HTC Desire HD ROM on to the HD2, it also allows people to see what exactly is in the latest version of HTC Sense. When HTCSense.com is opened up it will also allow HD2 owners more access to extra skins and the likes. [Read more…]

Google Docs Editing Coming to iPad

There’s good news for iPad owners who want the ability to edit Google Docs documents whilst on the move, as Google [GOOG] is releasing Google Docs for the iPad that will allow documents to be edited and perhaps created.

This ability is already available in the web based version, but to be honest, it’s quite bad and jumps in to a basic mode where you need to click edit on each row to edit the data. It’s really not up to scratch and feels clunky and is frustrating to use.

It appears that the application is for the iPad only, but it could also include the iPhone and iPod touch as well at a later date. [Read more…]

BlackBerry Storm 3 Spotted

Some pictures of what is thought to be the BlackBerry Storm 3 were sent in to Berry Review recently. The device looks similar to a BlackBerry Storm 2 which could mean that it has been photoshopped a little. However, RIM often keep similar design elements between phones which could also indicate it’s the real thing.

Technical specs for the device are not known just yet, but it is expected that the Storm 3 will get 8GB of internal memory and that it will have a 3.7 inch touchscreen display.

We also hear rumours that it might have mobile Wi-Fi hotspot connectivity. [Read more…]

Apple Patent Reveals Accessory Transceiver for iPod

Interesting information can be found whilst looking at patents filed. The latest we came across today comes from Apple [AAPL] that reveals plans for an accessory transceiver. The accessory transceiver could be used in the iPod touch which would effectively give it the ability to make phone calls and receive text messages.

It is believed that the device could act like the Peel case we wrote about a while back that you basically put your iPod inside to give it a mobile phone signal.

The device is not intended for just the iPod though and could potentially be used for the iPhone its self. You’re probably wondering at this point, why you’d want to add mobile phone functionality to a mobile phone… well, Apple also indicate that CDMA could be part of the device which would mean you could then use your iPhone on a different network to a GSM network. VLC Media Player Now Available for Download

The VLC Media Player app for the Apple iPad has now been approved and is ready for download in the iTunes store.

The application is free and allows you to stream multimedia content from another device to the VLC Media Player app on the iPad. The description explains that most media files can be played and that the app also supports a number of streaming protocols.

VLC has all codecs built-in. It comes with support for nearly all codec there is. And what is more it can even play back the file or media if it is damaged! Missing or broken pieces are no stop to VLC, it plays all the video and audio information that’s still intact.

Halo out of reach with disc read error

There is nothing quite as bad as finally receiving your very own copy a game that you’ve been waiting for ages to get your hands on, only then to find it doesn’t even work.

With over $200 million worth of copies of the last instalment of the Halo series, this has certainly made its mark in gaming history. But this, unfortunately, has been marred by many users being unable to play their copy of Halo: Reach due to a disc read error. Forums dotted all over gaming websites (including Bungie as well) have been growing and growing with rather disgruntled gamers. Yet still, its been unclear as to the cause for this, though here at Gadget Venue, we think its more likely that a dodgy batch of games got out, seeing as such a huge number needed to have been produced in order to try and keep up with customer demand.
