The image you are looking at here is captured from the video below and shows an aggressive quadrocopter flying through a hoop that was thrown in the air.

We have seen the quadrocopter previously. Each time a new video is released, it seems far more advanced than the previous version.

The video can be found below and shows examples of how the device can move through hoops without any input from a human (other than throwing the hoop). [Read more…]

The USB heated blanket

Yes thats right, the title is correct. Surely, come winter, you head down stairs to your computer or laptop when its nice and frosty outside. You don’t want to have to lug your bed covers with you and you don’t want to have to sit in front of a roaring fire with laptop in hand do you?

So what better way is there than to have with you a USB heated blanket? They come in 3 colours, pink, grey and navy blue.

With the blanket you get 2 USB cables. You can use one if its not sub-zero outside or both if the temperature decides to take a nosedive for that added heat and comfort. Its a novel and innovative idea to be able to sit on your couch with a laptop and be snug as a bug while being wrapped in this USB heated blanket.

The ‘Smart’ credit card, coming soon?

The standard everyday credit card may soon be a thing of the past. For starters, ‘smart’ cards look and feel like the credit cards you may already have in your wallet but with the addition of a micro processor embedded within the card itself. This allows information to be stored on the card in much the same way as a magnetic strip (which will usually run along the back of the card). The difference here is that more than one set of information can be stored on a card at the same time thus also giving the user the ability to switch between them depending on which account is to be used to pay for something whether it be a credit card account, debit or savings account.

Parallels Mobile App Brings Windows Access to iOS

Parallels recently released Parallels Desktop 6 for Mac. A new update to the Parallels Mobile for iPad and iPhone has now been released that lets users connect up to their Windows machines direct from the iPad or iPhone.

The video below shows a demonstration of how the new update works and exactly what can be done with it. Of course there’s a small bit of lag (large lag in some cases when on slow networks), but overall it looks to be quite impressive.

Unfortunately the previous versions of Parallels Mobile were more restricted and hence, only a two start rating is given for the app at the moment. Now that more control has been given to users, we expect to see the star rating rise. [Read more…]
