Yahoo Messenger for iPhone Update Now Ready

Yahoo! has pushed out a new update for Yahoo! Messenger on the iPhone. The Messenger update brings a number of features to the iPhone such as the ability to make video calls from iOS to iOS, iOS to PC or iOS to Android devices.

Voice calls have also been added to the service which allows you to call friends on a PC or other supported devices. The ability to make voice calls to landlines and mobiles is also available (in various countries) although this eats in to the minutes of your Yahoo! account it used. [Read more…]

HTC 7 Trophy and LG Optimus 7 Vodafone UK Pricing Revealed

Vodafone in the UK has announced pricing of a couple of new Windows Phone 7 smartphones.

The first of the two is the HTC Trophy 7 that will be free on a £25/month contract. For £25/month you also get 300 minutes, 500MB of data and unlimited text messages. The contract is for two years. [Read more…]

Windows Phone 7 to get Copy and Paste in Early 2011

Over at the Windows Phone 7 launch event in the UK, an interesting bit of information was provided that indicated Copy and Paste was coming to Windows Phone 7 in early 2011.

Microsoft Announces Windows Phone 7 Global Portfolio

Today, Microsoft [MSFT] officially unveiled Windows Phone 7 for launch. Information at launch reveals that nine new Windows Phone 7 smartphones will be launching over the next few weeks with Europe and Asia launching on October 21 and US launches being held on November 8.

Launch details also indicate that over 60 mobile operators will be selling the new smartphones in over 30 countries around the globe.

Over the next month or so, devices from Dell, HTC, LG and Samsung will arrive with even more devices arriving over the next few months in to early 2011 and beyond. [Read more…]

Samsung Focus Windows Phone 7 Announced

The Samsung Focus was announced today. The Focus is a new Windows Phone 7 device that has a price tag of $199.99 and will launch sometime in the middle of November.

The Focus has a 4 inch screen and uses Samsungs Super AMOLED display technology to create a crystal clear screen. A smudge and scratch resistant coating has been covered over the screen to prevent damage to the device. This in turn, keeps the Focus’ screen clear from damage. [Read more…]

LG Quantum Windows Phone 7 Announced

Today at the Windows Phone 7 launch event, AT&T [T] announced three new Windows Phone 7 devices. The first of these is the LG Quantum. The Quantum will be the first Windows Phone 7 to launch in the US on the AT&T network. The launch date is November 8 and it will come with a price tag of $199.99. Outside of the US, the LG Quantum will be called the Optimus 7Q.

The device its self has a slide out QWERTY keyboard. It has a 5 megapixel on the back. The new Windows Phone 7 device has DLNA integrated allowing content to be streamed over networks if needed. The screen on the Quantum measures 3.5 inches and is in a WVGA format. For storage it has 16GB and it runs the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon core. [Read more…]

HTC HD7 Launch Date – 21 October on O2

Another early outing has happened for O2 in the UK. This time its the HTC HD7 that was outed early (planned?). The HTC HD7 release date for those wanting it on the O2 network is October 21.

The device its self will run Windows Phone 7 and will be amongst the first of a number of phones being launched with the new operating system (that is being officially launched as we write this).

The HD7 has a 4.3 inch capacitive touchscreen along with all the regulars found in a phone of this caliber such as Wifi, GPS, Bluetooth and the rest. [Read more…]

DIY iPad and iPhone Connector Clip

Geeky Gadgets has created another custom type stand for the iPad/iPhone. The latest device lets you connect both units together and allows you to use the two screens to surf on one while watching something on the other device.

The iPad/iPhone connector is made from some U shaped plastic. To built it you just need a 24 CM length of the plastic along with some glue, scissors, paint and a Dremel to smooth the edges off. [Read more…]

Limera1n iOS 4.1 Jailbreak Works on Apple TV

The Limera1n iOS 4.1 jailbreak was released over the weekend by Geohot. Geohot mentions on the website that Apple TV should be technically supported.

Redmond Pie have now confirmed that the Apple TV can be jailbroke with the Limera1n tool.

The confirmation of this actually came originally from TUAW where Erica Sadun managed to get the Apple TV in to DFU mode and successfully jailbroke it. [Read more…]

Samsung Galaxy Tab on T-Mobile US Price $399 After Rebate

We know a lot of things about the Samsung Galaxy Tab now. However, pricing is still a little unknown in some areas. We hear reports today that the Galaxy Tab on T-Mobile in the US will have a price tag of $399 after a $50 mail in rebate. This looks to be a subsidized price as the full price is listed as $649.99 as seen in the image below.

Specs are also confirmed (again) on the image below and confirm that it has a 7.0 inch multitouch screen with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels. It will run the latest version of Google Android which is 2.2. It will have a rear facing 5 megapixel camera and a 1.3 megapixel on the front of the device. [Read more…]
