Custom MacBook Tablet Conversion – $50
This MacBook Tablet mod cost around $50 to build. Getting it working required just a touchscreen to be purchased which from what Gizmodo report, it costs $50. Other than that it’s just a matter of soldering bits together (carefully).
The new touchscreen added to the device is basically sunk in to the lid of the laptop. This essentially means that a lot of hacking and cutting up the MacBook needed to be done, but as can be seen, the results aren’t too bad at all. [Read more…]
T-Mobile myTouch Appears on T-Mobile Site
The T-Mobile myTouch was just mentioned here in the last hour. We now see that a page on the T-Mobile.com website has been put up that provides a few more details about the device as well as indicating its closer than we thought to launch day.
The HSPA+ connection allows the device to download data at up to 14.4 Mbps. This, of course, assumes you are in the best spot for network connectivity to reach maximum.
We also learn that the device uses the “Genius Button” that lets users use voice commands to access various functions of the phone. [Read more…]

Sony will be launching a Google TV this month. The model will be the Sony NSX-46GT1 and it has a launch date in the US of October 12. Late last week we had already seen the October 12 date announced although we didn’t have details of which TV it would be.
Along with Sony launching a Google TV, Logitech will also be holding an event this month on October 6 that will see the Logitech Revue Google TV companion box launched.
Sony calls its TV the Internet TV and looking at the specs we see it will run an Intel Atom processor. Size wise, we believe it will be a 46 inch screen and will provide the full Google TV experience to users who are based in the US. [Read more…]

Windows Phone 7 Launch Date – October 11
Windows Phone 7 will launch on October 11. Previously we heard that an event in London would be held. We also now hear that an event is being held in New York and that T-Mobile in NYC will be the star of the show, so to speak.
This information uncovers some interesting information such as T-Mobile introducing devices. Until now it was believed that AT&T would be the exclusive launch partner, but this seems to confirm that T-Mobile will be available too on or soon after launch.
Also it was believed that just a London event was being held, but now we see that the US will also see the handsets on the same day. Perhaps other countries will also roll out that day. [Read more…]
Boa Folia iPad Case from Booq
The Boa Folio is an iPad case that looks to do the same job as the official Apple iPad case. However, the Boa version looks a little nicer and has pockets on the outside and inside allowing you to hold documents and a smartphone in.
The incline on the case can be set at two levels allowing you to angle it a little higher if needed. This is something I particularly would find useful as the angle on the official iPad case is just a little too low and often reflects ceiling lights right back at you when at a desk. [Read more…]
Literati Color e-Book Reader Approved by FCC
We first mentioned the Literati Colour eBook reader back in August of this year. We now hear that the FCC has approved the device and that it can now go on sale in the US.
The Literati is a 7 inch eBook reader that has a colour LCD display. When purchasing the device, you get 25 eBooks pre-installed to start you off reading. Access to another 125 books is available at any time. Of course, 150 eBooks isn’t the largest selection but good news is that these are the “free” copies. After that you get an option of purchasing from a library of over 2 million eBooks. [Read more…]
