Microsoft’s not sure the about 3D gaming just yet

In an interview with CNN, Microsoft Studios boss Phil Spencer noted the companies lack lustre for 3D gaming for the time being in saying…

“As an entertainment company, we’re trying to do things that millions of people can go enjoy today… And for better or for worse, people just don’t really have TVs in their house right now that are going to do 3-D in a way that’s going to work.”

iPhone iOS 4.1 Jailbreak Pwnage Tool Screen Shot Arrives

Yesterday, Musclenerd over on Twitter posted a screen shot of the new Pwnage Tool. The Pwnage Tool is compatible with a whole range of iOS device and includes the iPhone 4, 3G, 3GS as well as the iPod touch 2G, 3G and 4G and on to the iPad and Apple TV.

Each of the devices needs to be running iOS 4.1 or 3.2.2 for the iPad for this tool to work with. [Read more…]

Android 3.0 Tablets Could Arrive at CES 2011

DigiTimes has reported that Android 3.0 tablets could arrive as early as as December. The models arrive will just be samples in preparation for launch at CES 2011 that goes ahead early in January.

As well as mentioning that tablets running Android 3.0 Gingerbread will arrive, DigiTimes also reveals that tablets from Acer, ASUS and MSI will all appear on the show floor. [Read more…]

Samsung Epic 4G Modded to Get Game Pad

The Samsung Epic 4G normally has a slide out QWERTY keyboard. A modder decided to pull away a bunch of the keys to create more of a game pad setup to play games.

The reason he decided to keep it simple was that it works surprisingly well. The modder, Phawx, has created a number of mods in the past for smartphones and when it comes down to controlling on-screen characters it seems that simply pulling out the unwanted keys and making a few cosmetic changes is the best way to go. Apple Back to the Mac Event Could Reveal new MacBook Air

Apple [AAPL] is holding an event today called Back to the Mac. Rumors about a new OS X version have been passing around due to the logo used on the image above. Perhaps OS X 10.7 will be launched.

Archos 70 7 Inch Android Tablet

Archos looks set to be launching another new Android based tablet. This time the tablet will be called the Archos 70 and will run the Android 2.2 operating system. The tablet has a 7 inch screen that has a resolution of 800 by 480 pixels.

The processor inside runs at 1GHz and is a Cortex A8 processor that also utilises a graphics accelerator. [Read more…]

webOS 2.0 Gets Reviewed

HP announced the latest version of webOS yesterday. The new version is webOS 2.0 and it will come installed on the new Palm Pre 2 that was also announced.

The new webOS is now called HP webOS and will be landing first of all in France on the SFR network this coming Friday and will be followed by a launch on other networks over the coming months in other countries.

Apple TV Jailbreak Possible with GreenPois0n

When the GreenPois0n iOS 4.1 jailbreak was getting ready to originally launch a couple of weeks back, it was due to use the SHAtter exploit. With Geohot quickly jumping in with Limera1n it caused GreenPois0n to change from SHAtter to using the same exploit Limera1n did.

We now see a picture of an Apple TV jailbreak running that shows GreenPois0n running. It is believed that it isn’t ready for a 1-click install just yet, but shows that its possible. [Read more…]

TomTom for iPhone gets Geo-Tagging

TomTom has added new features to the latest version of TomTom for iPhone. The new version is 1.5 and it brings a few new features which includes optimisation for the iPhone 4, ie, higher res graphics to make use of the Retina Display.

Thanks to the better optimised graphics, the roads and maps are also sharper.

A new feature called Navigate-To-Photo is also included. If you scan through your photos on the iPhone and see one that you want to navigate to (perhaps a park you went to recently), you can tap the photo and navigate to the geo-tagged location on the photo. This of course, assumes that the photo you are looking at has been geo-tagged. [Read more…]

HP has finally unveiled the Palm Pre 2 as well as WebOS 2.0 today.
