Google [GOOG] has launched a new version of the Google Chrome browser which is now available for download. The latest version is 14 which brings with it more usability for Mac OS X Lion users.

Windows 8 Hints at Phone Integration
Last week, Microsoft announced Windows 8. Shortly after the announcement a preview version of Windows 8 was available for public download. An eagle eyed writer at istartedsomething has managed to spot a couple of interesting tiles on the Metro style interface. One of them is pictured below which is titled Missed calls and the other makes mention of “Call mobile”.

7 Inch Motorola Tablet Spotted
The tablet pictured below is believed to be the next generation Motorola Android Tablet. The screen size hasn’t been confirmed although estimates hint at it being 7 inches. What makes this image quite interesting is that the tablet is also quite slim.
Amazon AppStore Goes Live Outside the US
The Amazon AppStore has gone live in a number of locations around the world. The service up till today was only available for those in the US. At the time of writing this, Amazon hasn’t made any formal announcement although there’s a number of reports of various countries now getting access to the service.
iOS 5 GM Release Will See iCloud Backups Reset
Later on this week the iCloud service is being wiped by Apple in preparation for the GM release of iOS 5. There will be an outage between 9am PDT and 5PM PDT where no backups can be created and any backups of an iOS 5 device created before this date will also be wiped.
After the maintenance window is iOS 5 GM devices will do a complete fresh backup of all data.
Apple Instructs Store Employees to Complete iCloud and iOS Training by End of September
A few weeks ago some details about internal training on iOS 5 and iCloud for retail staff were found. We now hear that Apple is instructing that employees complete this training by the end of September.
LG LU6200 Android Smartphone to get a HD Display
LG will soon launch a smartphone that has a HD display. The resolution of the screen will be 1280 x 720 pixels. The new phone is called the LG LU6200 and is expected to launch on September 26. The device will become LGs flagship phone.
New Apple A6 and A7 Processors Could be Made by TSMC
At the moment, Apple gets iPhone and iPad processors from Samsung. This could be changing soon though to a company called TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company). Reports earlier this year hinted at TSMC being used by Apple and it seems that a contract has now been signed.
iPhone 4 Bumper Could be Killed Off at iPhone 5 Announcement
The iPhone 4 bumper case seemed to be a convenient way to fix the antenna problem of the Apple smartphone. The case is designed to wrap around the edges of the device and protect it from surface scratches due to lifting the glass slightly off the table. By wrapping all the way around, the antenna covered up the small gap on the bottom left corner which in turn, prevented signal drop. Note that this is actually a common problem on other smartphones and not just the iPhone 4 that struggles with it.
Google Voice Actions Arrive in the UK
Google has pushed out Voice Actions to Android smartphone users in the UK, France, Italy, Germany and Spain. The service now works in British English as well as French, Italian, German and Spanish. Voice Actions lets you control your smartphone by spoken commands. By telling your phone what to do, it will do it. Actions include sending a text message, calling, navigation, map, directions as well as performing a Google search.
iPad to be Manufactured in Brazil by December 2011
Earlier this year some details of a new Foxconn factory to be created in Brazil were announced. Some expected this wouldn’t happen although we now hear that the factory will begin shipping the iPad by the end of this year.
