Every once in a while you might get the urge to open up one of your gadgets to fix it, clean it or give it some general maintenance. In doing this you often come across a variety of screw heads to deal with. Most people have a standard slotted (flat) screwdriver along with a Philips or Pozidriv. What do you do when you come across one of those funny hexagon or star shape screws though? The 22 in 1 precision screwdriver set should tackle this problem.
The screwdriver set comes with 20 different tips that range from Philips to slotted on to Pozidriv and then on to the star shaped ones (which are named Torx). Torx screws are commonly found in electronics. If you have a laptop, flip it over and you might find a Torx screw on the back or take a look at your mobile phone as there might be a few in there too. The tips in the Torx range come in several sizes although there are no markings to indicate which sizes are included. From appearance alone it seems like T1 – T8 in size is included. Also included are Hex Socket tips allowing you to use it for unfastening small Allen Key type screws.
Overall I found the screwdriver set very handy as I successfully opened up the cover on the heatsink on the underside of my laptop (of which I haven’t been able to do previously). For just shy of $10 it doesn’t cost the earth and comes in very handy.
