Although I like many of the product ideas on Kickstarter, there are some that just grab my attention. This time around it’s the 3Doodler. The 3Doodler is a 3D printing pen that lets you scribble drawings in 3D… meaning you can take the pen off the paper and draw in thin air right in front of you.
The pen uses ABS plastic just like many other 3D printers. Instead of being confined to a box attached to a PC, the ABS plastic is pushed through a pen which heats it up to just the right temperature that lets you lift the pen off the page and draw in the air. You need to see the video to get the full idea of what I am talking about.
The Kickstarter project has become very popular and within the first few days it has already raised almost $2 million dollars of its goal of just $30,000 USD. Not bad with 25 days still to go.
Backing options are now starting at $75 USD and for that you get the pen and 2 bags of mixed colour plastic as well as a few bits and bobs added in such as a “hall of fame” mention.
Take a look at the video below or visit Kickstarter to make a pledge.
