A bit of speculation can be found around the UK today about Virgin (a UK ISP) launching a new 50Mbps broadband service. More details will be published later this morning by Virgin.
Virgin launched a new modem about a month ago that allowed for speeds of up to 50Mbps and now, reports were saying that this super-fast service will be available with in the next couple of weeks. Virgin uses fibre optic in the UK making higher speeds possible while it’s main competitor is still on copper wires which are an older technology.
Some are saying that Warrington will be the first town where 50Mbps will be made available due to how many customers they have there. As we find out more details we will post an update.
