HTC has confirmed that the latest version of Google Android (Jelly Bean 4.1) will be coming to the One X and One S.
“We know HTC fans are excited to get their hands on Google’s latest version of Android. At this point in time, we can confirm that we have plans to upgrade our HTC One X, HTC One XL and HTC One S to Jelly Bean. Please stay tuned for more updates regarding device upgrades, timing and other details about HTC and Jelly Bean.”
Although several HTC devices are listed, the HTC One V is missing from that list for some reason.
Google recently announced Jelly Bean as the latest update for Google Android smartphones. The main challenge to getting Jelly Bean on to the One X and One S will be the carriers who often slow things down in terms of when OS updates become available. As seen on the regularly updated Android distribution charts, Ice Cream Sandwich is only installed on around 11% of devices which means that Jelly Bean could take a while before carriers adopt it.
