Some estimations indicated that Apple [AAPL] could be shifting in the region of 1.2 million iPads per month. Estimates also indicate that Apple could be shifting 2.5 million per month by the end of this year making it a huge success.
If the estimates are accurate then Apple will be continuing to ramp up production of the device. It is also believed that Apple has contacted Samsung to provide even more displays for the product. LG is the current provider of screens, so with Samsung on board, the company can produce more iPads.
Samsung is believed to be ramping up production by creating around 300,000 – 500,000 screens per month. LG is believed to be currently creating 800,000 to 900,000 per month.
Of course we are looking at “estimates” here which occasionally are way off. We’ll wait until we hear officially from Apple later on this year to see if the estimations were correct.
