T-Mobile today became the forth carrier to announce it will be offering the Apple iPhone 4 in the UK in the next couple of weeks.
As with the other three carriers, no pricing has been made available yet although we expect that T-Mobile, Orange, O2 and Vodafone will all announce prices either on or before June 15 when pre-orders open up for the new device.
For those unaware, Apple [AAPL] announced the iPhone 4 yesterday morning at WWDC along with a launch date of June 24 across five countries. Only US pricing is currently available which indicates on AT&T that a 16GB iPhone 4 will cost $199 with a 2 year contract or $299 for the 32GB iPhone 4 model.
The iPhone 4 is said to be the most advanced smartphone in the world with the new features it brings. These features include a better battery life, better reception, a Retina Screen that quadruples the amount of pixels when compared to the iPhone 3GS and due to the pixel density, makes it impossible to see individual pixels making text and images ultra smooth. A gyroscope has been added that adds a whole new level of interaction to mobile gaming. iBooks was also announced that allows you to synchronise across devices so you can pick up your iPhone or your iPad and carry on reading where you left off.
Overall an impressive set of features and with the iPhone 4 UK launch only 2 weeks away, we are expecting some good competition between the four major networks that will carry the device.
Finally today we can all have a watch at the WWDC 2010 video (rather than follow someone else’s notes on it), and decide why it’s such an entitlement to have the pleasure to sit in that audience .
