Of all the places Apple [AAPL] would want to find their lost Apple iPhone 4G prototype model, I bet the top of their list wouldn’t be a popular blog like Gizmodo.
From what we hear, Apple have lost an iPhone 4G or iPhone HD and somehow, Gizmodo managed to get their hands on the device…
It has been reported lost
Apple-connected John Gruber”from Daring Fireball”says that Apple has indeed lost a prototype iPhone and they want it back:So I called around, and I now believe this is an actual unit from Apple ” a unit Apple is very interested in getting back.
Obviously someone found it, and here it is.
Rather than go over all the details here, head on over to Gizmodo who have done a full review of what they have found. A few interesting things we hear are that when the phone is connected to a PC/Mac, it is identified as an iPhone. The OS will not load up on it, with a message pointing to a recovery mode… this is due to Apple supposedly remotely killing the phone. When it did work, it ran OS 4.0, or at least a beta of the version as the final isn’t available yet. The screen resolution is also supposed to be very high as in a lot better than the iPhone 3GS, but they are unable to say what the exact resolution is because they do not know.
There are loads of images to be found and several videos at Gizmodo, so check it out now as Apple will surely be trying all they can to get the images pulled down.
