As well as releasing the new Mac OS X 10.7.4 update yesterday, Apple also released a new version of Safari for the Mac.
There’s nothing too exciting with this particular release as it is simply a bug fix / security type update. The new version is Safari 5.1.7. The improvements fix performance, stability as well as add some security features to make browsing that little bit safer. One of the key changes is that Apple has configured Safari to disable older version of Adobe Flash.
Disable versions of Adobe Flash Player that do not include the latest security updates and provide the option to get the current version from Adobe’s website.
The main changes to the browser can be seen below:
Release notes for Lion users:

* Disable versions of Adobe Flash Player that do not include the latest security updates and provide the option to get the current version from Adobe’s website.
* Windows users running the latest Safari should also see browser responsiveness improve, and an issue relating to web form authentication has also been fixed.
