Details of the Apple Magic Trackpad have now been uploaded to the Apple site.
The Magic Trackpad is a multi-touch enabled trackpad that lets you work with your Mac desktop computer. It uses the same multi-touch found on the MacBook Pro and supports gestures that make it easier to work with a computer.
Gestures allow you to swipe through pages of a book whilst online. Inertial scrolling is also included that allows you to more easily scoll up and down a page.
The Magic Trackpad is Bluetooth and connects up to a Mac via that technology. It can be used with or without a mouse depending on what your needs are.
The Magic Trackpad is larger than the one found on a MacBook Pro and is also covered in a wear-resistant glass surface.
Magic Trackpad is just like the trackpad on the MacBook Pro ” but bigger. It’s made with the same advanced touch-friendly and wear-resistant glass surface. But with nearly 80 percent more area, it’s the largest Multi-Touch trackpad made by Apple. So there’s even more room for you to scroll, swipe, pinch, and rotate to your fingers’ content. And since the entire surface is a button that clicks, you can use it in place of a mouse.
The trackpad has been designed to look the same as the Apple Wireless Keyboard when looked at from a side profile. Both sit at the same angle and height. Having both the same size allows easier integration and movement between the two input methods.
