Last week, Apple launched a utility that allows you to create a recovery image of OS X so that if you run in to problems with your OS X Lion install, you can recover from external media. Apple was also rumored to be releasing a dedicated USB stick with OS X Lion recovery built in. We now hear that this product has been added to the Apple inventory list.
The information comes from 9to5Mac who were told that the recovery memory stick would be launched by Apple this week and that it will have a price tag of $69.
The release date is expected to be on the 15th although nothing has been confirmed by Apple about it. If you don’t want to go the cheap route by creating your own recovery system (free Apple software, Lion Update and 3rd party memory stick needed), then this option might work well for you.
We’ll announce tomorrow if the launch happens.
