When Apple [AAPL] launched iOS 5.0.1 recently the update fixed the battery problems for some users while broke them for others and made no change for others. For myself, my battery now does last longer although I think Apple still has some work to do to fine tune it. We now hear that iOS 5.0.2 is currently being worked on although it hasn’t been released to developers yet.
The 5.0.2 update is said to fine tune the battery a little more and run the OS more efficiently. We also hear that this update will be released before the end of next week.
As well as hearing of an iOS 5.0.2 update we also hear that Apple will be launching iOS 5.1 in the near future. Although not much is known about this update some rumours (or leaks) are hinting that Siri will be getting updated to include more functions such as being able to activate the camera as well as being able to enable or disable WiFi and Bluetooth. Although the rumours haven’t said this, we are expecting an update so that the US features are made available to other countries, ie… business searches and directions.
If Apple is releasing iOS 5.0.2 next week expect to see a beta seeded to developers in the coming days. As for iOS 5.1, we don’t expect that to arrive till late December or early January.
