The ASUS Eee 1001P was launched within the last week and features one of the new Intel Atom N450 processors that provide better battery life and increased performance. Although it’s not up to par with the 14 hours that the ASUS 1005PE provides battery wise, it still achieves 11 hours of usage on a single charge which is very respectable.
The Intel Atom N450 netbook runs at 1.66GHz. The 1001P comes with 1GB of DDR2 memory which can be upgraded to 2GB if needed. For storage the netbook has a 250GB SATA hard drive that spins at 5400RPM. A 0.3 megapixel webcam is included and found above the screen in the bezel as with other netbooks.
The screen measures 10.1 inches and has a matte finish. The screen can display 1024 x 600 pixels and is LCD. For connectivity the netbook has 802.11b/g and Bluetooth. The ASUS 1001P comes pre-installed with Windows 7 Starter.
The netbook is quite a small device that measures 10.31 inches in width, 7.01 inches in depth and 1.44 inches at the thickest point. Weighing 2.8 pounds it makes the device light weight.
