We first heard of the ASUS Eee 1215N a few weeks back where only a few details were known such as it running an Intel Atom N500 dual-core processor along with an ION GPU and NVIDIA Optimus. The dual-core N500 CPU will run at 1.5GHz.
We are now hearing a few more details about this 12 inch netbook/notepad that show it will have automatic graphics switching along with a full HD output of 1080p.
By using automatic switching it allows the netbook to increase graphics capabilities on the fly and as and when needed and then pull back to conserve power when the requirements on-screen are less.
We are expecting to hear official details of the ASUS Eee 1215N in the next few weeks on May 13 which will then be followed by the netbook hitting production around July time.
Price wise, we do not have the official details although it is expected to cost somewhere in the region of $550 to $600.
Unfortunately we do not know how much RAM it has just yet or storage, but ASUS normally have a few options available such as 1GB or 2GB variants with a variety of drives from around 160GB up to 500GB in capacity. We should get the full details next week if the official announcement happens.
