Over in Germany the ASUS Eee PC 1001P has just been made available for pre-order costing ‚¬249 which is the equivalent of about $357 USD.
The netbook runs Windows XP rather than Windows 7 which we would have expected. It also has a smaller standard battery capacity than other models which will probably restrict usage to below 10 hours. What it does come with is a new Intel Atom N450 processor that is due to launch January 6 which is also the official launch of the Eee 1001P netbook.
Other features of the netbook include wireless connectivity at 802.11b/g speeds, 3 x USB 2.0 ports and a 0.3 megapixel webcam. Memory wise it has 1GB and the HDD has a 160GB capacity. The screen measures 10.1 inches which is expected in any 1000 series Eee netbook.
You can pre-order now over at Amazon.de.
