The latest BlackBerry smartphone has been made official. The new device is the BlackBerry Torch 9800 which runs the new OS 6.
Features include a 3.2 inch touchscreen that has a resolution of 480 x 360 pixels. When launched, it will be headed to the AT&T [T] network.
Other features include a slide out QWERTY keyboard along with a wireless 802.11b/g/n connection and Bluetooth 2.1. The camera is capable of capturing images at five megapixels and the phone has a built in flash.
New features in BlackBerry OS 6 include tabbed browsing, as well as access to social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and MySpace.
Memory wise, it has 512MB or RAM and 512MB of flash along with 4GB of flash storage and a microSD card slot that has a 4GB card pre-installed.
For power, it has a 1300mAh battery.
Launch dates show that the new BlackBerry Torch will be made available in the US on August 12 with an unknown UK launch date. We’ll keep our eyes out for the UK launch and let you know.
