Nokia E7 Starts to Ship

Nokia has announced the launch of the Nokia E7. The new business class smartphone will begin shipping to select markets this week although the company haven’t specified exactly where that is.

We have heard hints that the E7 will launch first in the UK, but other than that we could take a guess that it will be also introduced in a handful of countries across Europe. Nokia does mention that the E7 will quickly move to other markets within the coming weeks though. [Read more…]

Canon Introduce Canon T3i and T3 Digital SLR Cameras

Canon has announced two new digital SLR cameras called the Canon T3i and the T3. The T3i (also known as the 600D in the UK) is a step up from the Canon T2i that launched last year. This model has an 18 megapixel CMOS sensor similar to what is found in the EOS 550D, 60D and 7D although Photo Radar comment that the sensor is slightly different although it’s unclear in what ways. The sensor allows it to capture full HD video.

The Canon T3i has an articulating LCD screen that can move out and swivel around for times when the camera needs to be held low or high, or at some obscure angle. Verizon Announce iPhone 4 Was Most Successful Launch Ever

Although Verizon ran out of pre-orders within the first day, the smartphone actually set the record on the Verizon network for the fastest selling device in 24 hours. In fact, it sold that quick that it took the record in just 2 hours of the doors opening. Virtual doors opened at 3am Eastern and by 5am the record was set.

Due to the quick depletion of pre-orders, Verizon is not able to open up pre-orders until the 9th February. [Read more…]

iPad 2 Could be Announced February 13

Rumors are hinting that Apple might announce the iPad 2 on the same day that iOS 4.3 is announced. That date is expected to be February 13.

The reasoning behind this date is that iOS 4.3 will be announced which will bring hotspot functions to the iPhone. Also, this marks the 2 week end to the Verizon deal where the company are picking up the tab for those subscribing to The Daily iPad app. [Read more…]

Android 2.2 Takes 57.6% Share of All Android OS’s

Android 2.2 is gaining traction this month. Android Developers has shared details that reveal Android 2.2 now takes a 57.6% share indicating that more than half of the Android users now are on Android 2.3.

Following behind that is Android 2.1 which has a 31.4% share and then down to Android 1.6 and 1.5 which takes 10.4% between them.

Joining the group recently is the Android 2.3 update that can be currently found on Nexus S smartphones. This version accounts for just 0.8% although we expect updates will be incoming soon which will then significantly increase the numbers. [Read more…]

Honeycomb Features to Get Added to Android 2.4

When Honeycomb was announced, we heard that the new version would be designed for mainly tablets although smaller devices such as smartphones could also be made compatible in the future.

ASUS Eee EP121 Slate Launches

ASUS has launched the Eee EP121 Slate. This particular tablet device runs the Windows 7 operating system.

The screen measures 12.1 inches and has a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. The screen is also capacitive and has an electromagnetic panel that allows a stylus to be used for more precise input. [Read more…]

After a few years of waiting, Google has now launched a web store for the Android Market. The new webstore allows Android phone users to browse around various apps and click a button to install them on their Android smartphone or tablet.

To get it to work, you just need to register your handset or tablet with the Android Market web store and once done, you can then click to buy (or grab free) apps and via OTA, they are sent to your device. [Read more…]

T-Mobile G-Slate with 8.9 Inch Screen and Tegra 2 Unveiled

T-Mobile has announced the LG G-Slate. This particular tablet has an 8.9 inch screen and runs an NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor. The operating system that will run on the G-Slate is Android 3.0.

The 8.9 inch screen has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels allowing users to watch 720p HD video. A unique feature of this particular tablet is that it has a couple of cameras on the back capable of capturing 3D pictures. [Read more…]

Samsung Galaxy S 4G Announced by T-Mobile

T-Mobile has officially announced the Samsung Galaxy S 4G smartphone. Many people already knew that this particular smartphone was coming to T-Mobile, but now it has been officially confirmed.

The Galaxy S 4G is capable of connecting up to T-Mobiles 4G network which they say has a theoretical peak download speed of up to 21Mbps.

Android 2.2 is installed on this particular smartphone and it comes with a 1GHz processor, a 4 inch Super AMOLED screen and 16GB of internal memory.
