Bing 2.0 for iPhone Brings Facebook Integration and Streetside

Apple [AAPL] has approved the Bing 2.0 app for iPhone.

New features of the app include quicker ways to find restaurants based on price range, cuisine, atmosphere and location. Also, movies can be found by name, location or theater. As well as creating new ways to search for things to do in your local area, Bing 2.0 also has Facebook integration as well as access to the Streetside service. [Read more…]

HTC Scorpion Listed

Several months ago, rumors were going around about the HTC Scorpion smartphone.

At the time, we heard that the smartphone was to use a 1.5GHz CPU that would be dual-core and that it would run Android 2.2. The Android 2.2 part has obviously been and gone as we are now transitioning to Android 2.3, but what we have yet to see is the phone or the processor. [Read more…]

Mark Zuckerberg was recently named Person of the Year by Time Magazine. Along with naming Zuckerberg, some pictures of one of the data centers used for Facebook was also posted.

Flipboard for iPad Updated

Flipboard for iPad has received an update today. The latest version brings a bunch of new features to the social news reader app.

The new version is numbered 1.1 and allows you to now sync Google Reader to it which in turn, lets you browse through your combined feeds in one in a handy and readable format. Flickr is also available now and the updated app lets you browse more easily through pictures stored in the web service. [Read more…]

Navigon has updated MobileNavigator for the iPhone and increased it to version 1.7. The new MobileNavigator 1.7 brings a few new features to the iPhone which includes Retina Display support.

Nintendo 3DS Release Date for Europe Could be Announced Next Month

Nintendo will be holding a press conference on January 19th 2011 where it is expected the release date for the Nintendo 3DS will be announced.

The event arrives about a month before the Japanese launch on February 26. When the release date for Japan was announced, the company also said that the European and US release dates would be announced in separate events, which makes us believe this will be the date for Europe. [Read more…]

Apple iTunes 10.1.1 Update Causing Problems for Some

Apple [AAPL] released a minor update for iTunes on Wednesday. The new version is iTunes 10.1.1 and this version was designed to fix problems which caused iTunes to occasionally crash.

Unfortunately, it seems to have caused more problems in that some users are reporting that when opening iTunes it simply crashes immediately now and refuses to open. [Read more…]

Gawker Comment Hack Prompts Yahoo and Others To Reset Passwords

Several days ago, Gawker’s comment boards were hacked and a number of usernames and passwords stolen. Due to the size of the Gawker network which includes sites such as Gizmodo and LifeHacker, it has prompted a number of web companies to reset passwords of users they think were effected by the attack.

Yahoo!, Flickr and LinkedIn were amongst the first to reset passwords of users and we hear that Blizzard (world of warcraft boards) also reset a number of passwords. We also believe that Amazon has also followed along here. [Read more…]

The Dell Streak is currently available at Best Buy for $99.99. The offer is limited it seems and just for the holiday season. You also need to sign up for a two year agreement to get it at the new low price.

Windows Phone 7 Major Update Could be Late 2011

Although we should see a couple of Windows Phone 7 updates arrive over the next 2 months, one of which will bring the much anticipated copy & paste functions to the device, we also hear that a major update is being built although the release date of that update is expected to be sometime in August or September of 2011.

This major update due towards the end of next year is believed to be codenamed Mango and will precede the Windows Phone 8 update slated for a late 2012 launch. We could perhaps look at Windows Phone 7 as being Windows Phone 7.5. [Read more…]

Multi-User iPad Concept Created

The iPad is designed for a single user. When you slide the unlock slider, you get presented with the same icons, same settings, same active logins no matter who picks up the iPad.

This concept idea aims to allow several people to use the iPad, each with their individual settings. It uses 4 sliders with one in each corner for each user. When that user picks up the iPad they use the slider with their name and log in to their own icons, saved passwords and what not. [Read more…]
